Local artist Fran Wieckowski’s oil paintings are featured on canvas at the Gallery at Frederick Living through early February. The show includes paintings from Fran’s favorite subject, Nature, which contain the rhythm of shapes, patterns of light across space, and exploring color within them.
Fran grew up in Penndel, PA, in the 1950s. Her mother bought her a “paint by numbers” set when she was 7 years old, but she never used the numbers and was quickly painting on canvas. In addition to The Gallery at Frederick Living, she currently shows her work at Umbehauer’s Gallery in Pennsburg.
For the last four years, Fran has been teaching the oil painting class, “Open Art Studio,” at the Center at Spring Street in Boyertown. She also teaches two classes at Frederick Living in drawing and painting.
The Gallery at Frederick Living is open to the public between the hours of 8 AM-5 PM. A portion of the sales from Fran’s paintings will be donated to the Frederick Living Resident Benevolent Fund.
