Active Lifestyle

Live Actively

While some may think of retirement as a time to kick back and do nothing, at Frederick Living, retirement is your opportunity to start the next chapter of your unique story. Learn a new hobby, volunteer to others in need, join a travel adventure for fun or service – the opportunities for an exciting and purposeful retirement are as endless as your imagination. If there is something you’d like to pursue, we can help you achieve it.

Actively Volunteering

Many Frederick Living residents volunteer for a wide range of opportunities across the campus. Volunteers champion musical shows for charity, knit and crochet items for local non-profit organizations, serve in a variety of ministries and assist in community outreach events on campus. Team work and the blessing of helping others is a key component of the volunteer lifestyle at Frederick Living.

Volunteer Opportunities

Actively Growing Stronger

At Frederick Living you can focus on staying active and keeping strong and healthy. Strength training programs in the “Body Shop” are directed by knowledgeable trainers who guide you through safe and practical exercises to keep you fit. Choose from additional classes in tai chi, weightlifting and balance improvement. Learn & Live Well classes provide information on combating or avoiding common health problems and tips on nutrition to maintain optimal health.

Plenty of opportunities are also available for outdoor exercise. If you’re looking for a leisurely activity on a nice day, check out our miniature golf course, bocce ball court, horseshoe pitch or the 1-mile walking path. Billiards, ping pong and a Wii game room are available indoors on rainy days.
