Hello. We’re coming to you today from Frederick Living’s Bistro patio. It’s beautiful out here today and we’re here to share with you some highlights for what’s coming up during the month of September so that you can come join us and see what Frederick Living is all about. I’m Betsy Natter, the storyteller.
And I’m Lisa McCartin, Director of Sales, and this is Engage Live. Starting us off this month on Sunday, September 6, we will have a dance troupe from George Washington’s era. They’ll be here dressed in costume, and you’ll get to see some demonstrations of dances from the 17th and 18th centuries. So again, that is Sunday, September 6th at 2 pm in our auditorium.
Then on Wednesday, September 9th, in our Fireside Dining room, join me for our September Lunch and Learn, which will feature a general presentation about Frederick Living. You’ll enjoy lunch with some residents and then have a brief tour of our amenities.
Tuesday, September 15th, Hunter Yoder will be here to talk about Pennsylvania Dutch hex symbols. We’re in Pennsylvania Dutch country, and in the past, hex symbols were painted on barns and throughout the countryside. and he will explain what a lot of those symbols mean and have samples to show and explain what that’s all about.
Then on Saturday, September 19th, Frederick Living will be celebrating its 130th anniversary. We are going to have a big celebration with both indoor and outdoor events outdoors. Here in the field behind us, we will have a tethered hot air balloon rides – weather permitting, a petting zoo, a bounce house for the kids. This grill area will be going. We’ll have some Pennsylvania Dutch food to sample, a bake sale, a raffle baskets, some quilts up for display, and then also a special concert at 12:30 by the Quakertown Band. So, there’s lots to do. It’s free and open to the public. So, please come join us and help us celebrate our 130th year.
Finally, at the end of this month, we will begin a five-week session with Jill Kearney from Specialty Moves by Design. She will begin her five-week session on Tuesday, September 29th at 6:00 p.m. in our auditorium. So, that will help you get your home ready for sale and get ready to make your move here to Frederick Living.
