Cedarwood Health Center at Frederick Living Recognized by Newsweek

Cedarwood Health Center at Frederick Living was named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Nursing Homes 2027 list. This is the 3rd year that Cedarwood was named.

The rankings were announced on Newsweek’s website on Wednesday, September 30, and for the first time included communities with 50-99 beds. Fifteen communities were named in Pennsylvania. Frederick Living ranked 8.

The America’s Best Nursing Homes 2027 ranking lists the nation’s leading nursing homes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The evaluation is on the following:

  • Quality Metrics Data: published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data were used to determine the performance of nursing homes. 
  • National online survey: From June to August 2026, thousands of medical professionals and managers working in nursing homes were invited to an online survey in cooperation with Newsweek. 
  • Accreditation data on nursing homes provided by The Joint Commission (TJC) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). 
  • Google reviews as a proxy for resident satisfaction. 

“The title of America’s Best Nursing Homes is a testament to Frederick Living’s commitment to providing exceptional care,” said a Newsweek spokesperson.

Frederick Living is a licensed continuing care retirement community situated on a 72-acre campus in rural Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The organization has been providing services to adults 55 and older at this location since 1896.
