Receptionist – As Needed Position – Days and Times would vary

This opening is for individuals who are looking for occasional or sporadic work.  This positions is used to cover time off of reception staff such as vacation or time off.

Main Function: Provides administrative and reception support at the Main Entrance

Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent with clerical or secretarial skills. Computer literacy or willingness to be trained to community system required

Health: Good physical and mental health, producing upon hire, and as required thereafter, a satisfactory exam from a physician and a satisfactory Mantoux test or chest X-ray

Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities

1. Perform receptionist duties including answering the main switchboard, relaying messages to staff, responding to inquiries and directing residents and visitors

2. Maintain coverage at front desk during scheduled office hours

3. Provide clerical support as needed

4. Serve as mailroom liaison, notifying mailroom of address changes and assistance as needed

5. Initiate maintenance and housekeeping requests for the entire Frederick Living community

6. Notify appropriate departments of away sheets, returned keys and collection of resident payments

7. Collect funds and sell tickets for a variety of Frederick Living functions

8. Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties

9. Perform other related duties as required

Physical Demands:  Ability to reach, finger and perform repetitive movement actions, including walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time to adequately perform the essential functions of the job  Ability to feel, hear, see and speak with or without accommodation to adequately perform the essential functions of the job  Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

 Ability to work in inside environmental conditions  Sedentary position, 90% Hazards:  May be exposed to blood-borne pathogens, chemical hazards and respiratory hazards, infection, odors and behavior problems associated with the aging process. Variables: May be asked to assist in emergencies
