DESCRIPTION:A Six-Week Series on Planning for Retirement\, Downsizing & Managed Moves\n\n\n\n\n\nAging in Place: Temporary Fixes and Permanent Solutions\n\n\n\nFor many older adults\, their current home is near friends and family\, doctors\, and familiar landmarks – and may be more or less suited for aging-in-place as they age. But most homes can still be improved to ensure safety and to minimize risk of falls or other injuries—all things that will keep the homeowner healthy and living independently for as long as possible. \n\n\n\nJoin Jill Kearney\, certified Aging-In-Place specialist\, as she helps attendees analyze the pluses and minuses of their current homes\, what causes safety hazards\, ways to improve (lighting\, bathrooms\, reach\, etc)\, and capital improvements they might need to consider. She also covers how senior living communities are uniquely designed to address these physical issues\, but also the mental\, emotional and spiritual needs of older adults so they can age-in-place happily for the rest of their lives. \n\n\n\nThis series is free and open to the public.
