Busy Hands/Warm Hearts Delivery

Busy Hands/Warm Hearts is group of Independent Living Residents at Frederick Living who volunteer their time to benefit others. Twelve resident
volunteers made over 100 handmade crocheted, knitted, and sewn sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, baby booties, blankets, and more. The group gathers every Tuesday to work on needlework projects but much of the work is finished on their own time.

Marlene Smith and Ruby Ifkowitz transported the items shown in the photo to Genesis Pregnancy Center, Birthright, and the Pottstown Sewing Center (for their Linus Project) this afternoon. Ruby and Dan Ifkowitz transported the majority of the items to the Salvation Army in Pottstown earlier in the day.

Ruby Ifkowitz, Jean Buckley, Nancy Bacchi, Jo Ann Brooks, Marlene Smith, and volunteer, Susan Moser-Dixon, counted, sorted, and packaged over 100 items on November 27 in preparation of the donation day. The event was covered by Town and Country newspaper and will be featured in an upcoming issue.
