Frederick Living is looking for a part time Dietary Aide at our beautiful Continuum of Care Retirement Community located in Zieglerville, PA.

No confirmed positive COVID-19 cases at this point but we are aware of the seriousness of COVID-19 and are employing new technologies, ongoing infection control and training measures to provide a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff should we get a case.

Frederick Living is seeking a Full Time and Part Time Dietary Aide to work in our skilled unit and memory care area.

Openings:

Part Time: 6:00am-2:30pm, 8-16 hours per bi-weekly pay, 20-29 hours per bi-weekly pay – Days Vary, Every Other Week-end and Every Other Holiday

Full-Time: 6:00am-2:30pm, 72 hours per bi-weekly pay – Days Vary, Every Other Week-end and Every Other Holiday

Serve an appropriate, palatable, well-presented meal of choice to residents in compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations while contributing to and enhancing resident life.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma preferred, but not required. Experience preferred, but not required

RequirementsJob Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate correct hand washing and glove usage
2. Use correct safety procedures: use of potholders, wet floor signs, safety shoes, etc.
3. Demonstrate how to operate dish machine and knows correct wash and final rinse temperatures.
4. Demonstrates correct labeling and dating procedures
5. Demonstrates proper food storage techniques
6. Demonstrates how to correctly sweep and mop floors
7. Uses knives and cutting boards appropriately
8. Demonstrates how to operate small equipment: griddle, can opener, toaster, etc.
9. Demonstrates how to prepare non-cooked menu items: sandwiches, sides, entree salads, etc.
10. Demonstrates correct portioning of all menu items during meal service consistent with menu extensions using the correct serving utensils, etc.
11. Demonstrates correct dining room set-up, service and clean-up techniques
12. Demonstrates proper transport of tray carts for resident safety
13. Able to read and interpret patient/resident meal tickets and serve meal consistent with prescribed resident diets & textures
14. Demonstrates appropriate refuse disposal
15. Follows assigned cleaning schedules

16. Accurately record meal completion percentages on meal tickets
17. Understands the urgency of responding to resident and staff requests and letting the customer know we value their time and input
18. Maintains clean uniform, apron and appropriate hair restraint
19. Record food temperatures consistent with food safety guidelines, assuring foods are maintained at proper food temperatures throughout service
20. Record all refrigerator, freezer and dish machine temperatures. Assure temperatures are in proper range, notifying appropriate staff of any irregularities
21. Create a pleasant dining experience: addressing residents by name, welcoming them to the dining room, assisting residents in wheelchair back to room, if needed
22. Act consistently as a team player
23. Attend all required in-services and trainings
24. Demonstrate service based on person-centered care principles
25. Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties
26. Perform other related duties as required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to hear, feel, see, smell and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Ability to pull, push, reach and stand adequately to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in inside environmental conditions
